Hello, this is Dave Hire, Superintendent of the Coshocton City Schools, with two important announcements for all parents and staff. First, I am calling to notify you that we have received information about one confirmed case of COVID-19 in a student or staff member at Coshocton Elementary School, and three confirmed cases in a student or staff member at Coshocton High School. We are working closely with the City Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of a COVID-19 investigation. The buildings will remain open at this time. However, please note that the district currently remains on a modified schedule due to this week’s updated County COVID designation of “Red.” Please be aware that while we remain on a modified schedule at this time for next week, there is always the possibility of needing to go to a fully remote situation on the spur of the moment. I appreciate and thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time of constant change. A letter has been posted on our school website at www.coshoctoncityschools.com. On the home page you will find a COVID-19 Information tab or button directly below the banner at the top of the page. Second, because we are on a modified schedule next week, our 2-hour early dismissal scheduled for Thursday, November 19th has been cancelled. There will be no early dismissal on Thursday. Thank you for your attention to this notification. We will continue to monitor all health situations and communicate additional information if possible.

Hello, this is Dave Hire, Superintendent of the Coshocton City Schools, with an important announcement for all elementary school parents and staff. As required by the Ohio Department of Health Director’s Order, I am calling to notify you that we have received information about at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in a student or staff member at Coshocton Elementary School. We are working closely with the City Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of a COVID-19 investigation. The elementary school will remain open at this time. However, please note that the district currently remains on a modified schedule due to the county’s “Red” COVID designation. This will allow us to have greater social distancing in our buildings by allowing only half of our students in our buildings on any given day. A letter has been posted on our school website at www.coshoctoncityschools.com. On the home page you will find a COVID-19 Information tab or button directly below the banner at the top of the page. After you click on the button, you will see a folder called COVID-19 Parent Notification Letters. Click on this folder to access the full letter. Thank you for your attention to this notification. We will continue to monitor all health situations and communicate additional information if possible.

Good afternoon, this is Tony Meiser assistant principal at CES and your remote learning contact with a few important announcements for our remote learners. You probably have heard that next week CES will be using a hybrid model for the face-to-face students. This does not affect our Remote Students. Please follow the same schedule as you always have. Keep on going each day the way you have been! Unfortunately this means picture day for next Friday has been cancelled. Once a make-up date is set we will be sure to let you now. Next, be on the lookout for a survey from your teacher. It is about your student's learning experience thus far with Edgenuity. This will give us valuable feedback about how to improve the platform as well as get some preliminary numbers of people returning to school in January. Finally, thank you again for all you have done to make this experience the best it can be. Students and parents are working extremely hard and we are seeing progress everyday. As always if you have any questions don’t hesitate to call me at the school. Have a great weekend. #coshoctonpride

Hello, this is Dave Hire, Superintendent of the Coshocton City Schools, with an important announcement for all parents and staff. This afternoon, the Ohio COVID-19 Risk Level for Coshocton County went from an “Orange” designation to a “Red” designation. Our plan for this school year indicates that all of our buildings will operate on a modified face-to-face schedule when the county health designation is “Red.” This means that beginning next Monday, November 9th, students will only attend school two days per week and will have remote learning opportunities on the other three days. Students have been separated into two groups, Group A and Group B. Students and parents should already know their student group. Students will be reminded about their group tomorrow at school. Our modified schedule will be for the entire next week. Group A students will attend face to face on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; Group B will attend on Thursdays and Fridays. No students will attend on Monday. County risk levels are announced every Thursday, and we will take this one week at a time. We understand that having your children at home several days per week will be difficult but this arrangement will help us to ensure greater safety through social distancing and smaller numbers in our schools. If you have any questions, please contact your building or visit our district website. Again, the Coshocton City Schools will be on a modified schedule all of next week.

Hello! This is Tim Jones, assistant principal at Coshocton High. This message is for all remote APEX learners grades 6-12. Because APEX is designed to be a semester class, all remote students will receive a Student Overview Report in the mail in lieu of a Progress Book grade. You can find a link explaining this report on our Remote Google Classroom page. Next, we will be having Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, November 5 and Tuesday, November 10. Times for both will be 4-7 PM. Please contact your child's remote teacher directly, or call the office (740-622-9433) to schedule an appointment.
