ASSESSMENTS/TESTING

Ohio Statewide Assessments Each Coshocton student in grades 3-12 participates in Ohio’s statewide testing program, Ohio AIR. State tests administered are as follows:

  • Grade 3 - English Language Arts (ELA) and Math

  • Grade 4 - English Language Arts (ELA) and Math

  • Grade 5 - English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science

  • Grade 6 - English Language Arts (ELA), and Math

  • Grade 7 - English Language Arts (ELA) and Math

  • Grade 8 - English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science

  • English I

  • English II

  • Algebra I

  • Geometry

  • Biology

  • American History

  • Government

DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND SCREENING

Coshocton City Schools administers other assessments as diagnostic tools for Reading and Mathematics: STAR Early Literacy, STAR Reading Enterprise, and STAR Math. Reading levels (or benchmarks) are monitored for designing appropriate instruction using the Benchmark Assessment System (grades K-6).

Kindergarten students are required to take the KRA, the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment, within the first two months of school.

All students in grades 2 and 4 are given Terra Nova 3 as a gifted screener in the fall.

Results of all testing is shared with parents. State testing results will be mailed home once results are received from the Ohio Department of Education. Diagnostic testing and screening results will be shared with parents at conferences. Parents may obtain performance reports by contacting their child's school and teacher.
