School meals are "right-sized" and reflect the appropriate balance between food groups.
School meal standards are in line with dietary recommendations for protein intake.
School meal standards allow students to select at least three of the five food components on their plate .Students MUST take at least three items to qualify as a school lunch. One of the three items must be a fruit or vegetable. The school cannot provide free milk to students who pack their lunch as this is a violation of the standards.
