Hello this is Mr. Meiser, CES Assistant Principal and your remote learning contact with an important message for all third through sixth grade parents and guardians of remote learners. Your remote student is scheduled to take the Ohio State Achievement Test during the week of April 12th. Each test consists of two parts, and will last a maximum of 90 minutes. All students will take an English Language Arts Test and Math Test. Fifth grade students will also take a Science test. We are taking every precaution to keep your child safe. They include limiting interaction with others, ensuring proper social distancing, and disinfecting the classroom. Students will be required to wear masks during the assessment. Your child should arrive at the gym entrance between 8:45-9:00. Your child’s remote teacher, along with myself will be there to sign your child in. Students will take a break between each test and be provided a school lunch. If you prefer, you can pack a lunch for your child. Your student should be finished with the test and ready to leave at 2:15. They will exit the gym doors for you to pick up. I am sure you will have several questions, don’t hesitate to call me at the school. Thank you in advance for helping make 2021 testing a success. I truly understand the enormous responsibility and challenges that remote learning presents, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Have a great evening https://5il.co/qwmf

REMINDER: EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES SURVEY DUE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10th, 2021. As part of the Governor's press conference on February 9th, he charged districts with creating a plan to address learning losses related to the challenging schedules and environments created by the COVID-19 pandemic. His initial suggestions include extending the current school year, starting next year early, and extending the time of the current learning day. We want to explore the suggested options and potentially find some creative solutions to meet the needs of our school population. We are hoping to gain feedback from our community to help design our plan to best meet the needs of the students that we serve at Coshocton City Schools. We ask that you take a few minutes to answer some initial questions to help us move forward with our plans. We will be collecting responses through Wednesday, March 10th.
