A New Chapter for Coshocton City Schools
After what feels like a winter-long game of “Will we or won’t we have school?”, we’re finally back to a full week’s schedule. While the weather has kept us on our toes and limited the days our students could be in the building, I have taken this time to reflect on how to serve our students best.
As a result, I am excited to share a change that will shape the future of Coshocton City Schools. Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, we will move the sixth grade into the current Coshocton High School building to create Coshocton Middle School. This middle school for grades six through eight will offer extended blocks in Math and ELA and additional related arts experiences while creating a nurturing middle school environment.
This transition also opens new doors for increased early childhood education in our community. Moving the sixth grade creates the space needed to expand our preschool programs and introduce a daycare option. High-quality early childhood education is essential because it helps children develop a strong foundation for academic and social success while ensuring they receive necessary services.
Change always raises questions, and we are dedicated to keeping our families and community informed at every step. As we move forward, we welcome any questions and will provide more details while addressing concerns throughout this process.
At Coshocton City Schools, every decision centers on what is best for our students. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environment for all. We appreciate your support as we take this step to improve our schools and enhance the learning experience for all students.
With Redskin Pride,
